Ecuador Mission 2006

As I have mentioned on earlier posts, I am leaving today for Ecuador for two weeks. I am so excited about this trip that I could not sleep (been up for three hours now!). I am a part of a team of nine guys from Southern Seminary under the leadership of Dr. David Sills (professor of International Missions and Intercultural Communications) who will be working among the peoples of Ecuador. This is my first mission trip since Argentina in 2004, so being back overseas is long overdue. We are scheduled to arrive back in Louisville on Thursday, January 12. Blogposts should resume shortly thereafter. I just want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been so gracious and kind to me in remembering me in your prayers and contributing to my needs. I ask that you continue to remember us in your prayers. May the Lord extend to you the joy he has given me for being a part of His work among the beautiful people of Ecuador. It is my hope and expectation that through the pleasure of the Father and the passion of His people, many Ecuadorians will come to treasure Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives and joy of their hearts!

Timmy, I hope you enjoyed your trip to Ecuador. I look forward to reading more about it. I grew up there and I am pretty sure I know Dr. David Sills. Scott Tye
