High Tide, Low Tide, and Crimson Tide
Taking a breaking in my reading, Dusti and I watched the Alabama/Florida game this afternoon. The game was simply amazing. Alabama simply crushed Florida in one of the biggest blowouts in a decade, leaving Florida without a touchdown in a game for the first time in 13 years. The final score was 31-3, and even the score does not fully represent how much Bama dominated on both sides of the ball. The sadness, however, came on a 4th down attempt where Croyle attempted a pass to star-receiver Tyrone Prothro (you may recognize him for the catch-of-the-year in the So. Miss game). Prothro fell awkward on his left angle and snapped it clean. It was terrible to watch. Last year, Bama was plagued with injuries, including all their running backs and most of their quarterbacks. Now 5-0, Bama is has to face the rest of the season without their star player Prothro. I found myself screaming and silenced in a matter of moments. Nonetheless, it was a great moment for Bama and possibly the start of a new era of championship teams to come. Who knows? We've experienced high tides (12 National Championships) and low tides (NCAA probations, injuries, multiple coaches, losing seasons). But inspite of it all, Bama is still the Crimson Tide - and for that I say RRRRROOOOOOOLLLLLL Tide Roll!

Great game today! Prothro's broken leg broke my heart though. :(

No kidding! I couldn't watch it. I felt like throwing up. So sad. But he handled it so well. I was more impressed with Prothro and the team's concern for him after the injury than the remarkable catches earlier in the game.
